Hi guys!

Surgery is over! And I am home. And in pain.

I am finally able to sit up long enough to type.

So here are the details:

Thursday the 8th: surgery was changed from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. So we went to the hospital around 11:00, completed Living Will & Power of Attorney. Last thing I rememeber, they put a cute shower cap w/bears on it on me, I remember seeing all the lights in the operating room and lots of people--just like on TV. The next thing I knew, I was in ICU and one of my neighbors & parent from school (Sue) was my nurse. My surgeon came in & said it looked good. Got to sleep for a few hours, then they came in & said that the ER was full & they needed the rooms in ICU so they moved all the patients for my nurse to critcal care! AT 3:00 a.m.!

Next day, surgeon came in, said it looked good, my DR came in, said it & I looked good. Moved me to a regular room later. I had 3 cathedars (?) and 3 IV's. Morphine made me sick. Hubby was with me all day.

Saturday morning, had cathedars removed, 2 stitches from my next & lots of other bandages. Hubby & kids came to visit. Mom came to visit. Surgeon said I looked good & could go home on Sunday.

My left arm is numb but surgeon explained it's possible since tumor was the size of a marble. Moved my spinal cord WAY over, but I have movement & strength in my left hand.

So I came home Sunday afternoon & the kids had a cute Welcome Home party for me.

Today, I've been sitting a lot--FINALLY! So I can type & update you. Stitches come out Tuesday. I'm still VERY sore as they had to cut some bone out, too. Was worse than I thought it'd be...it hasn't sunken in that this was major surgery.

I see the surgeon in another 3 weeks! Then he said physical therapy if I need it, but it'll be 6-8 weeks before I'm back to whatever normal is.

No lifting or straining--gee darn! So if you thought the house was bad before, you can imagine how much worse it is now!!
